For 2021 there are two weekends at the Denver Convention Center, with the older group (17-15’s) playing May 7-9 and the younger group (15-11’s) playing May 14-16.  The Denver Convention Center is located at 700 14th Street, Denver, Co. 80202.

The deadline for application and housing requests for the May 7-9 dates is March 26, 2021.  

The deadline for application and housing requests for the May 14-16 dates is April 2, 2021.

Even with the change of dates due to COCID, we are confident Crossroads will remain the same exciting event it has been for years. Many of you have been part of it numerous times, and we look forward to having you back, along with any “newbies” who want to be part of what has proven to be a spectacular event.

This year there will not be a meeting on the night before the event occurs.  Rather, we will have a mandatory Zoom meeting to go over the tournament expectations and protocols we might need to follow.


The Zoom meeting for the weekend of May 7-9 is Wednesday May 5th @ 7:00pm MT (9:00 ET; 8:00 CT; 6:00PT); it should take less than an hour.

The Zoom meeting for the weekend of May 14-16 is on Wednesday May 12th @ 7:00pm MT (9:00 ET; 8:00 CT; 6:00PT); it should take less than an hour.

Links for these meetings will be sent before the meeting date. If you attend the first meeting, you will not need to attend the second meeting.  

Paperwork will be issued at the tournament desk for W-9 and Last Day Availability.


Crossroads provides housing on a limited basis for out of town officials at the Sheraton and several other hotels within walking distance of the Convention Center (about 4 blocks). We have a limited number of rooms; requests for them close March 26th for the first weekend and April 2nd for the second weekend or until the rooms are filled, whichever comes first. We will put two officials to a room but may, in some cases, have to triple up, depending upon the number of out of town responses.

  • Step One is to go onto the website and register for one or both weekends.  
  • Step two Glenn will send a confirmation email in 2 – 3 business days.  If you do not receive an acceptance email within that timeframe, contact Glenn (at; he might have missed your first registration.
  • Step three once you have received the acceptance email, make your travel arrangements.  You will also need to go to the following link to input your travel arrangements, housing request, USAV information.  

Remember, we have a limited number of rooms. Those who respond first will be the last to have an additional person put into their rooms.  (We do this to give some incentive for a quicker response.) In any event, room reservations are not complete until we have a completed application and information is put into  


After March 26th or April 2nd or when the housing blocks fill, we may have some complimentary rooms available at outlying hotels that would require you to drive or take the light rail to the Convention Center. If you are able to take advantage of this, let us know.

To qualify for *Free* housing you must work all three days of the event. Requests for free housing will be handled on a first come, first serve basis.  Requests made after March 26th or April 2nd or after available complimentary rooms are filled may have a discounted rate but not a free room.


The compensation for this event will be:

National Officials: $38.00 per match plus *free housing

Junior National Officials: $36.00 per match plus *free housing

Regional Officials: $32.00 per match plus *free housing

Provisional Officials: $30.00 per match plus *free housing


Out of State officials who work all three days of each event are guaranteed at least 16 matches. Note: In all probability you will be assigned more, but we can only guarantee 16 matches. As in the past, we will make every effort to pay you on the last day of the event.


Denver light rail now runs from Denver International Airport to Union Station downtown. Cost is $10.50 each way and takes about 40 minutes. From Union Station there is a free 16th Street shuttle about two blocks away. The 16th street shuttle will drop you off at the Sheraton.  If you’re housed at another downtown hotel, you will be within a few blocks of your destination.


The required uniform for the events is the standard white, blue or gray official’s shirt, navy blue slacks, black belt, white socks and white tennis shoes with the appropriate USAV Official’s patch. USAV Official’s patches (Regional and Provisional) will be available for sale at a nominal fee for those who do not have one.


Crossroads partners with the Friends of Jaclyn (FOJ), which is a support group for children having a pediatric cancer . The “FOJ Day” is the second day of each weekend (Saturday, May 8 and Saturday, May 15); the shirt color is purple; Crossroads will provide the shirts. Please be sure to indicate on your application if you need a shirt and what size (you can, and we encourage you to, use the same shirt as last year if you received a shirt in the past) so we can make sure we have one for you.

Official who have attended Colorado Crossroads in the past would agree that it has a long history of being a well-run event and both its staff and the Front Range club staff are known for treating the officiating corps with respect. This year will be no exception.

Follow these easy steps to apply to the event:

  • If you worked at Crossroads last year and you have not changed your email address, just log in to and update any information before applying to officiate!
  • If you have not yet created an account (either last year or this year), then select “New User Sign Up Here” at Then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the signup process. Be sure to assign the “Official” role to yourself in this process.
  • Once you are logged in, click the “Tournament Official” link at the top of the page.
  • Select “Register for Events” on the top to apply to Colorado Crossroads.

Tournament Acceptance

Once you have submitted your application, you should receive notice of acceptance within 2 – 3 business days via email from the system. Be on the lookout for the email and be sure to check your spam too.
